Patina lit up Lewes for Christmas

A big thank you to all the shops, businesses and individuals who hired a lantern (or several!) during the festive season and supported Patina.

We are delighted with the response and were very busy making lanterns days and nights like jolly little elves in the North Pole. It was gorgeous to see the lanterns in so many windows around town, whether in shops, cafes, bookshops, funeral directors establishments, hairdressers, opticians or pubs! We had orders for over 50 lanterns, which is quite remarkable since this was the first year we’ve offered lanterns as a fundraiser. Such was the demand, we unfortunately had to turn down some requests made beyond the deadline but will be able to build our capacity for next year.

Here is some of the feedback we’ve got:

“The lantern shouts Lewes, independence, different, beauty and creativity” (Bag of Books),

‘It was lovely to be part if it”, “great to see so many around town”, “same time next year!”

”We will be definitely interested to do it again next year” (County Carpets)

“Instead of a real tree, this Christmas we had a Tree Lantern: so much better – no needles!!” (Dave and Polly)

So we will be back with the lanterns next year, if not before!
