Anonymous Art Auction – 22 April

Patina’s theme for 2016 is “We are Walking Works of Art” and to encourage the whole community to rediscover the pleasure of drawing and painting, we are inviting people to rev up their imaginations and create a postcard sized work of art for an anonymous art auction. Everyone, young and old, acclaimed artist or otherwise, is invited to paint or draw a picture inspired by the title: “Something I saw”

This could be an image etched on your memory, the expression of a moment of realisation when the penny dropped, a future you wish for, or simply the view from your window.

Donated artwork will be sold anonymously at a special community evening hosted by Cllr Ruth O’Keeffe MBE, Chair of Lewes District Council, at Lewes House on Friday 22 April, 7pm – 9.30pm. Proceeds will go towards funding the 2016 Moving On Parade.

Only after purchase will the winning bidders discover whether the piece they have bought is by an eminent local artist or a work created by someone yet to be discovered by the art world.

Please create your work of art on a postcard – no other size please, with your name on the back plus any message or description you may wish to give and hand it in at Lewes Tourist Office by 11 April. Postcards and forms are available at the Tourist Office. For more information, please visit www.patinalewes.com or www.Facebook/Patina or contact us at patinalewes@gmail.com.
