We will be moving on from the Paddock at 12.30 on Friday 6th, getting to the top of the High Street at about 12.45 and reaching the Crown Court at 1pm. We will be in Cliffe at around 1.15 before parading back up School Hill and to the Paddock for a party from 13.40 for about an hour. Really looking forward to seeing everyone there!
This is it – our big day, when the children take over the streets of Lewes and parade through town in all their glorious costumes made over weeks with our Patina artists, celebrating moving on from primary to secondary school and into adolescence. Come out and cheer them on – and join us in the Paddock from 1.40pm for the after parade party! 6 July, parade commences 12.30.
Join us at our annual Moving On Exhibition to take a close look at all the children’s ideas, designs, costumes and sculptures made for their Moving On Parade this year, in the peaceful setting of Lewes Railway Land Trust’s Linklater Pavilion. Midday – 4pm, free entry, refreshments available.
An exciting moments as our presenter Michael Blencowe and our Patina artists go into all 17 schools over the next days to present the theme, reveal what each school will be in the parade, and gather the kids’ ideas for their parade costumes and sculptures....
Once again our wonderful graphic designer Emma Carlow, Director of Playroom Interiors, has created a fabulous logo for our 2018 Moving On project. Capturing all the fun and colour of the parade with a sense of taking off into adolescence, we love it!
